Quick Tutorial

The Texture Creator's interface is very simple and straightforward to use. This tutorial covers the basic parts of it such as keystrokes and mouse behavior. Please feel free to use this document as a reference in case you forgot how a certain aspect of the interface works. (For example, zooming in/out)

Input Image Area

Keystrokes (hold these keys for maximum effect)

  • X - Zooms IN, into the position of the mouse on the input image area.
  • Z - Zooms OUT, out of the position of the mouse on the input image area.
  • W - Scrolls the view UP the input image.
  • S - Scrolls the view DOWN the input image.
  • A - Scrolls the view LEFT the input image.
  • D - Scrolls the view RIGHT the input image.
  • Ctrl+A - Selects thre ENTIRE image with the selection rectangle.
  • Ctrl+Z - Undo the last selection modification.
  • Ctrl+Y - Redo the last undone selection modification.
(NOTE: undo and redo only affect the selection, not filters)

Selection Tools

  • The Dashed Rectangle tool Selects a rectangular region on the image. This tool is useful as starter: you would first select the GENERAL region on the image.
  • The Silly Hand tool Moves individual points of the selection quad. The point you click closest to is the one that will be anchored while you drag the mouse. This tool is useful for CORRECTION or FINE-TUNING of the selection quad on the image.
  • Color - Sets the color of the selection quad.
The default is red but if you are dealing a reddish image you will want to, for instance, use black or white for your quad so as to see it better.

Output Preview Area

  • Width and Height textfields at the top are pretty self-explanatory.
  • Controls on the bottom help to customize the visualization of seamlessness of the result.

Filters Area

For each of the two lists of filters:
  • Add... adds a filter to the list.
  • Delete removes the selected filter from the list.
  • Settings opens up a gui dialog where you can modify the parameters of the selected filter while seeing its effect on the image.
  • UP Moves the selected filter up in the list.
  • DOWN Moves the selected filter down in the list.
Remember, filters are applied in order, one by one, so order matters.
