Welcome to Seamless Texture Creator
Hi there!
With this program you can easily turn still photographs and other images
into seamless texture images for tiled backgrounds on webpages, desktops,
presentations as well as for texturing in 3D video and PC games, etc.
The program also allows you to easily transform the angle of view for
photographed objects. The interface is very simple and straightforward,
albeit it does not provide UNIVERSAL god-like control over the result.
The parts of the program indicated on the above diagram are as follows:
- Input image: This is where you can scroll, zoom in/out, and
select the desired geometrical region of the original image.
The selection region is a quad polygon (4 vetexes) stretched over the
original image in any prefered way. The geometrical transformation
then skews the quad-bounded part of the image in such a way as to make
it rectangular. In this transformation each vertex of the quad
corresponds to each of the 4 vertexes of the output's image rectangle.
For example:
becomes
Beware: a small quad region will result in a pixelated output when it
is stretched over a larger sized result image. (Unless the result size
is set to be small too)
- Output preview: This is where you can preview the effect of
the applied transformation/filter(s) on the resultant image.
- Pre/post filters: Here you can manage the filters applied to
the result image. The original image is first passed through
prefilters, then it becomes transformed geometrically and
finally passes through postfilters.
